Internet Explorer

While Netscape is the offical uni web browser, people will insist on using Internet Exploiter (rather that Netscrape :). (I hate them both, you should use mozilla :)

Well lets see, how you set up IE depends on the version.
IE before 3.02
  • Choose the 'View' menu
  • Select 'Options'.
  • Select 'Connection'
  • Select 'Connect through a proxy server'.
  • Select 'Advanced'.
  • Set the 'HTTP' host to proxy and the port to 3128
  • Click Use the same proxy server for all protocols
IE 3.02
  • Choose the 'View' menu
  • Select 'Options'.
  • Select 'Advanced'.
  • Select 'Automatic Configuration'.
  • Set the proxy URL to http://www/proxy.pac
IE 4.*
  • Choose the 'View' menu
  • Select 'Internet Options'.
  • Select 'Connection'.
  • Select 'Automatic Configuration'.
  • Set the proxy URL to http://www/proxy.pac
IE 5.*
  • Choose the 'Tools' menu
  • Select 'Internet Options'.
  • Select 'Connections'.
  • I need to VERIFY this. if you have IE5 then please email me!
  • Select 'settings'
  • Set the proxy URL to http://www/proxy.pac
