Specific Info

Virus Info: Can I get a virus through email?

Only if something runs the email. For example, if word automatically starts (you can get macro virii) or if outlook runs the java script or something.

Generally huge bloated 'helpful' programs like outlook or, to a lesser extent netscape, which automatically run the program that the email asks for can get you a virus.

Virus Info: When you have a virus

  • If you want to look for info yourself then go to http://www.altavista.com/ and enter "+virus +NAME_OF_VIRUS" then brouse the pages that it returns (search string for other search engines may vary).
